The Animesy was founded in 2024 and is the first symphony orchestra dedicated exclusively to performing anime music with the full scale and emotion it deserves.
After two successful concerts in Duisburg and Wuppertal, where audiences were swept away by the beauty and energy of their interpretations, The Animesy announces new dates in Berlin and Cologne, promising a unique and unforgettable experience.

In the fourth concert on April 25, 2026, Susanne Müller-Hornbach and Dirk Peppel will be guests at the church with their program “Mirrors” for flute and violoncello.
Contemporary works by Kaija Saariaho, Toru Takemitsu, Lutz-Werner Hesse, Gerhard Müller-Hornbach, and György Kurtág are set in dialogue with historical music by Georg Philipp Telemann, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Joseph Marie Clément Ferdinand Dall’Abaco.
In this way, entirely new perspectives—and ways of listening—emerge. The “new” is reflected in the “old,” the “old” in the “new,” and within the works themselves the principle of reflection comes vividly to life in a great variety of forms. In Kaija Saariaho’s Mirrors, timbres, rhythms, and musical gestures are reflected like flashes of light. In Gerhard Müller-Hornbach’s Das Nahe suchen (“Seeking the Near”), the two instruments succeed in reflecting (themselves) only “almost”—what remains are ever-renewed attempts at approach. In Lutz-Werner Hesse’s Elegy, it is tone sequences that encounter one another again and again, as if in a mirror…
