Winterreise
Der Winter hat weltberühmte Komponisten zu Meisterwerken inspiriert, die die kalte Jahreszeit einerseits poetisch beschreiben, andererseits aber auch die Herzen der Menschen mit Licht und Wärme zu füllen vermögen.
Die Flötenklasse von Professor Dirk Peppel lädt sie ein zu einer musikalischen Winterreise zu Höhepunkten des Repertoires mit Kompositionen von Antonio Vivaldi, Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, Peter I. Tschaikowsky, Frederic Chopin und vielen anderen.
Die seit vielen Jahren erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit mit den Gesangsklassen der Musikhochschule verspricht auch in diesem Jahr wieder instrumentalen und vokalen Hochgenuss mit jungen Solistinnen und Solisten und Ensembles in überraschenden Kombinationen.
Prof. Peppel wird gemeinsam mit den Studierenden auftreten, wie immer hochkarätig und einfühlsam begleitet von der Pianistin und Korrepetitorin der Flötenklasse, Eri Uchino.

Winter has inspired world-famous composers to create masterpieces that both poetically capture the cold season and warm the hearts of listeners.
Professor Dirk Peppel’s flute class invites you on a musical winter journey, featuring highlights from the repertoire with works by Antonio Vivaldi, Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert, Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky, Frédéric Chopin, and many others.
The long-standing collaboration with the vocal classes of the University of Music promises, once again this year, a treat of both instrumental and vocal performances, featuring young soloists and ensembles in surprising combinations.
Professor Peppel will perform together with his students, accompanied, as always, with elegance and sensitivity by the flutists’ pianist and répétiteur, Eri Uchino.

Die Wuppertaler Musikhochschule öffnet ihre Türen. Prof. Dirk Peppel, Mitglied des Direktoriums, begrüßt alle Interessierten um 13.00 Uhr im Foyer des Gebäudes und stellt in einer 45-minütigen Hausführung die Musikhochschule vor. Im Anschluss an die Führung findet ein 45-minütiges Konzert im Großen Saal der Hochschule statt. Studierende präsentieren sich und ihr Können. Um 14.30 Uhr endet der „kleine Einblick“ in die Musikhochschule. Wer möchte kann einfach um 13.00 Uhr vorbeikommen. Eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich.

The Wuppertal University of Music Opens Its Doors. Prof. Dirk Peppel, member of the board of directors, will welcome all visitors at 1:00 p.m. in the foyer of the building. He will introduce the university during a 45-minute guided tour. Following the tour, a 45-minute concert will take place in the Great Hall, where students will showcase their talent. This “small insight” into the University of Music will conclude at 2:30 p.m. Anyone interested is warmly invited to join at 1:00 p.m. No registration is required.

Seven Days – 91 Evaluation Performances

Your colleague Dirk Peppel is serving on the jury for piano and a woodwind instrument. The experienced juror is very pleased that these evaluation performances are taking place at “his” university on Sedanstraße. “It’s great to have the concerts in our own building. Many young musicians can get to know our university and see that it’s a wonderful place to study,” says the board member of HfMT. In seven days, this jury has to evaluate 91 concerts across three age groups. “It’s incredibly exhausting, but in every round of evaluations, there are breathtakingly amazing performances. It’s unbelievable,” says the professor of flute. There is a great variety and creativity on display, and one experiences exciting, moving performances. Peppel has been a juror for the Federal Competition and the “China Youth Music Competition (CYMC)” in Beijing for several years. As a host at HfMT, he showed his fellow jurors the most beautiful sides of Wuppertal “after hours.”
